The University of Albany is sponsoring a community lecture from Greg Pahl.  Greg Pahl, author of Power from the People, will speak at UAlbany on Monday, April 8th at 7:30 pm in the Earth Science Building, Room 147. The focus of his talk will be on organizing and funding local energy projects.  Please click on this flyer to view the details!

Greg is the author of numerous books on energy and also writes for Mother Earth News and various other publications on biodiesel, wind power, wood heat, solar energy, heat pumps, electric cars, and a wide range of other topics related to living in a post-carbon world. His books include Biodiesel: Growing a New Energy Economy (2005, Chelsea Green), Natural Home Heating: The Complete Guide to Renewable Energy Options (2003, Chelsea Green), The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Saving the Environment (2001, Macmillan/Alpha Books), and The Unofficial Guide to Beating Debt (2000, IDG Books). Copies of Power from the People will be available for purchase at the event.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NYS WOMEN!

There is a new website for The NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund, Inc. (GLEF).  The Fund was established in 1989 as a non-profit corporation to provide a permanent funding source to support fellowships, research, and training for New York State women. Through 2012, it has awarded almost $130,000 in fellowships to New York State women.
