Wednesday, November 20: CRWN is pleased to welcome Betty Wall, P.E., Account Executive for IBM Corporation. Betty is responsible for Cloud Computing business strategy, business development, and sales execution for IBM’s largest healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, university and government clients on the east coast. Betty will discuss changes and improvements which have occurred in advancing the fields of math and science for girls and women, and the great deal of work yet to be done. Her talk will include references to Cheryl Sandberg’s book: "Lean In", and the October 3rd article in the NY Times entitled, “Why are there still so few women in science”.
Betty has been actively involved in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and awareness for women for over two decades. Betty recently presented on a panel with three other female executives for the Tech Valley Series for Empowering Women, hosted by the Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce, an event that received significant recognition in the Capital Region.
Betty is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York. Since joining IBM, she has held positions in middle management, engineering, manufacturing, strategy, marketing and sales.

Capital Region Women's Network monthly meetings consist of a brief business meeting, dinner, and a guest speaker. Meetings normally are held the 3rd Wednesday of each month, September through June. We usually meet at the Grille One Six Five at Normanside Country Club, 165 Salisbury Road, Delmar, New York; however, please be sure to check the announcement above, as we sometimes meet at an alternate location. Gathering and sign-in begins approximately 5:30 PM, seating for dinner is promptly at 6:30 PM. The dinner is “prix fix” for members at$27 for entrée, with multiple selections provided for your choice that night. All dinners include a salad, tea or coffee, and dessert. The cost for non-memebers is $29. Cash or check is accepted.
You do not have to be a club member to attend our meetings. Guests are always encouraged and welcome!

Cancellation policy: Club members are contacted for their reservation the week before the meeting. Please understand that once you have made your reservation, you are expected to pay for your meal even if you do not attend, unless you provide 24 hour notice to your caller. Meetings are not typically cancelled due to inclement weather. If so, you may be notified by phone by a club member.
