As a community of women helping women, I am very excited about the activities the club has taken on for this year. Karen and the scholarship committee are currently taking applications for the Corrie Bregman Scholarship. Please help spread the word to your circle of friends and acquaintances who may benefit or know someone who may benefit from this $2,000 opportunity. The application is available right here on our website which Jean continues to manage for us.
At the last meeting I talked about “The Reality Store” Program, targeting high school aged girls, encouraging them to think about life and preparing for the future. The program presents a real life simulation in which the participants select a career and make lifestyle choices. We have been in discussions with the Troy Boys and Girls Club, where we would host the program. Their Executive Director, Sharon Smith is very excited about our collaboration on the program, feeling that many of their members will be interested in attending. Stay tuned for additional details.
I would bet that each and every one of us has a keen interest in improving our health this year, and CRWN will focus on this topic at our next meeting. We have another awesome program scheduled for February Meeting - we will be at the Wolfert's Roost. Kathy M. has secured WomenHeart Champion, Deborah Flaherty-Kizer as our guest speaker.
